Creature of the Word Giveaway

Matt Chandler (Explicit Gospel), Josh Patterson and Eric Geiger (Simple Church) just released a new book this month with B&H Publishing called Creature of the Word.

The book looks at the scripture-based beauty of a church that makes everything they do about Jesus and outlines practical steps that church leaders can take to help form a gospel-centered ministry.

On Tuesday, Oct. 23rd, Chandler, Geiger and Patterson will host a three-hour interactive simulcast  about the book. They will each teach on a different topic from Creature of the Word and then answer viewer questions at the end.

So how about a giveaway?!

Baptist21 is going to give away three copies of the new book, each that come with an individual simulcast registration to watch on the 23rd.

Here’s what we want you to do… comment and tell us something that your church is doing to make everything it does about Jesus.

Deadline to comment is October 15th. We will pick 3 winners from the comments section!

  1. Is this where I’m supposed to comment to enter the drawing? If so, our church proclaims the gospel every Sunday via it’s preaching of the Word to the gathered church. Every week there are at least a dozen unbelievers hearing of Christ and called to repent and believe.

  2. Our church believes a long lost way of making everything it does about Jesus is by prayer. The leadership models and practices personal prayer while centering time in corporate worship to pray as a body. If you want to follow the shepherd than it is wise to be in constant communication and teach others to do likewise.

  3. We believe Pastor Ligon Duncan was spot on in Foundations for Biblically Directed Worship when he said the church should “read the Bible, preach the Bible, pray the Bible, sing the Bible and see the Bible (in baptism and the Lord’s Supper).” We are as intentional as possible to saturated everything we do and everything we are with the Word, and since the meta-narrative of Scripture is the Gospel we consider this to be a Gospel-saturated, Gospel-centered approach to ministry, thereby being a Christ-saturated, Christ-centered approach to ministry. Practically this plays out through our deceleration and demonstration of the Gospel through song, preaching, teaching, discipleship, and mercy ministry…
