I was blessed to be able to work with brothers that I love to create Baptist21. Our purpose from the beginning was to engage younger Baptists in convention life, and I think in many ways, we have been able to do that. When we started almost a decade ago there were very little venues at the annual meeting that appealed to younger guys, and now by God’s grace there are many highlights at each meeting that young guys enjoy attending.
But, our purpose from the beginning was also to be a pastor-led group not a group of convention employees. I recently took a position at the North American Mission Board where I will lead an effort to better engage younger pastors in SBC life.
Since I am stepping out of the pastorate, I am also stepping away from B21 so that they can continue to be a pastor-led group. I love everyone who is a part of B21 and pray God’s richest blessings on them and their ministries.
