B21 Panel Bio: R. Albert Mohler., Jr.

mohler-wide-300x173The Baptist 21 blog attempts to point its readers towards the great Southern Baptist efforts of the past and present, with hopes of a more faithful and fruitful future. Anyone familiar with Southern Baptist history or church history in general knows that in order for this to come about the church needs Christ-centered men with strong backbones, clear minds, and warm hearts. This is exactly why we have invited Dr. R. Albert Mohler, Jr., to be a part of the B21 panel.

Dr. Mohler serves as the Joseph Emerson Brown Professor of Christian Theology and as the President of the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He’s the author of such books as Culture Shift: Engaging Current Issues with Timeless Truth (Multnomah), Desire & Deceit: The Real Cost of the New Sexual Tolerance (Multnomah), Atheism Remix: A Christian Confronts the New Atheists (Crossway), and He Is Not Silent: Preaching in a Postmodern World (Moody). Dr. Mohler’s efforts also include his national radio program, The Albert Mohler Program, and his highly acclaimed blog, www.albertmohler.com. He has served as the Chairman of the SBC Committee on Resolutions and currently serves as the chairman of the Southern Baptist Convention’s Council of Seminary Presidents. Dr. Mohler also serves as a faithful ABF teacher Highview Baptist Church, where he preaches frequently as well. Of course, the list goes on and on. He is a busy, faithful, and exceedingly competent man of God.

Our blog acknowledges that we stand on the shoulder of giants, Dr. Mohler is one such giant. Without his leadership in the SBC over the past decades, no doubt, we would not be having the conversation that we hope to have the B21 Panel. Without his leadership at SBTS, humanly speaking, it would not be the asset to the kingdom of Christ that it is today.

Over the past several years, I have had the opportunity to see Dr. Mohler in action at his home, church, and school. He is a faithful husband and loving father. He is one of those Christian leaders who, refreshingly, are as much about the kingdom of Christ in their private life as they are in public. He’s a man of integrity. In short, Dr. Mohler is one of the key voices Southern Baptists need to hear as they seek greater faithfulness to the Great Commission in the 21st century. Therefore, it is our pleasure to introduce Dr. Mohler as a panelist on the B21 Panel.
